Mission Statement: “Supporting the Arts through cultural, charitable, and educational activities, displays and tourism in the greater Minerva area.”
We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and are committed to expanding the Arts in our village. Please join our endeavor by considering a donation, purchasing a plaque to be permanently displayed in Summer Alley or volunteering at one of our Arts events.
The Minerva Arts Council is the successor organization to the Minerva 20/20 Vision Committee which was organized in 2009 to provide funding, planning and implementation of public art events and projects. The committee was founded by community leader, Pat Miller at the request of Rob Hankins, ArtsinStark acting director at that time.
There have been many projects completed in the last 15 years, and we are continuing to increase our momentum. The following are some examples of art commissioned or procured by the Council: Dancing Figures made from Cronin China, The Big Chair, Sarah’s Pencils, the
original Market Street Art Festival, Our Lady Minerva, Summer Alley, and the William Powell sculpture.
Future plans include the creation of outdoor musical instruments, scholarships, interactive murals, community art activities and art gallery fundraisers to name a few. We look forward to partnering with you. Please contact us with any questions or ideas.
Artfully,
The Minerva Arts Council
